CV / Résumé
Jonathan Cutrer
I care more about shipping maintainable software than about titles. I've been doing this long enough to know most problems aren't technical — and short enough to still find the hard ones genuinely interesting.
Career
Work Experience
Senior Software Developer · Current
Full-stack development across product and platform. Python, TypeScript, React, FastAPI. I focus on pragmatic delivery — clean enough to maintain, fast enough to matter, tested enough to sleep at night.
Software Developer / Systems Engineer
Web applications, internal tooling, and infrastructure across a range of industries. GIS data pipelines, content systems, API integrations. Comfortable owning a thing end-to-end.
Web Developer & Technical Lead
Led small dev teams through product launches and legacy migrations. Managed CI/CD, deployments, and the uncomfortable conversations about technical debt before it became a crisis.
Background
Education
Computer Science & Systems
Solid grounding in algorithms, networking, and low-level computing. I started on Slackware from floppy disks and haven't stopped learning since. The gap between theory and production is where I live.
Self-directed & Ongoing
Cloud infrastructure, GIS/spatial data, drone operation, modern frontend frameworks. The best education I have is the stack of things that broke on me and the notes I kept about why.
What I work with
Skills & Technologies
Tools I've used on real problems, not just tutorials.
Python
Primary language for backend APIs, automation, data pipelines, and scripting. FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, asyncio.
TypeScript / JavaScript
Strong in modern TS/JS. React, Next.js, Astro, Vite, Node.js. I prefer types everywhere.
Linux & Systems
Veteran Linux admin. Ubuntu, Debian, Bash, SSH, cron, systemd, Docker, Nginx. The terminal is home.
Cloud & DevOps
Cloudflare (Pages, Tunnels, DNS), GitHub Actions, VPS management, CI/CD. I ship things and keep them running.
GIS & Mapping
Spatial data pipelines, map rendering, drone data processing. I can get from raw survey data to a publishable map.
Photography & Video
Hobbyist with real gear. Landscapes, cycling, tech tutorials. Lightroom, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve.
Databases
PostgreSQL, SQLite, Redis. Schema design, migrations, query optimization. I do not skip indexes.
Go
Growing. CLI tooling, performance work. I reach for it when Python starts feeling slow and I mean it.
Legacy Stack
C, PHP, Perl, C#, PowerShell, BASIC. Not afraid of old code — some of the most important systems run on it.
Let's build something.
Available for select projects, collaborations, and conversations worth having.
