This site. Rebuilt from WordPress to Astro 6 on Cloudflare Pages — static, fast, and maintainable. The goal was a site I'd actually keep updated.

Built a new broadband business division from scratch — business planning, central office design, fiber network architecture, federal grant acquisition, and operational launch inside a rural electric cooperative.

Authored the winning NTIA federal grant application for broadband fiber infrastructure. Managed the federally funded middle-mile fiber construction project through completion, including compliance and reporting.

Redesigned ICS infrastructure encompassing physical security, video surveillance, fiber optic SCADA communications, and network architecture for distribution power substations.

Designed and deployed the wide-area network connecting all cooperative facilities, enabling reliable communications and centralized management across a rural service territory.

Led the deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure — a smart grid modernization initiative replacing legacy metering with networked smart meters for real-time usage data and outage detection.

Full-stack fitness tracking application combining workout logs, nutrition analytics, and body metrics into a single interactive dashboard with GitHub-style heatmaps and custom data visualizations.

Designed and constructed the cooperative's data center during a building expansion. Planned power, cooling, physical security, and rack infrastructure for core IT and telecommunications systems.

Implemented a Microsoft Hyper-V HA cluster consolidating physical servers onto Dell Enterprise hardware with iSCSI SAN storage, enabling rapid recovery for critical 24/7 systems.

Led the enterprise-wide migration from Daffron to NISC — the cooperative's core platform for billing, operations, and member management. Coordinated data migration, staff training, and business process alignment.

Managed the migration of the Outage Management System from Milsoft to NISC OMS — a critical system for storm response, outage tracking, and service reliability.

Directed the migration of construction staking and engineering design software from Partner to NISC Staking, streamlining outside plant design and work order workflows.

Selected, procured, and implemented the complete software stack for the cooperative's new ISP division — subscriber management, billing, provisioning, and network management systems.

Designed, installed, and maintained a fully redundant public IP network delivering 99.99% measured uptime. Responsible for architecture, equipment selection, and operational management of the provider's core data network.

Deployed an Alcatel/Lucent optical ATM network — carrier-grade infrastructure supporting high-speed data transport across the provider's service area.

Designed and built a fault-tolerant, dual-redundant core routing architecture ensuring continuous service availability and graceful failover for the provider network.

Deployed a licensed LMDS/MMDS fixed wireless broadband network — an early broadband wireless technology delivering internet service to customers beyond wired infrastructure reach.

Built a high-availability server cluster for a service provider's production network — ensuring critical services remained online through hardware failures and maintenance windows.

Designed and implemented WAN infrastructure and VoIP systems for local and regional banking institutions, connecting multiple branch locations with reliable data and voice services.

Lead architect of a cloud SaaS email platform focused on secure delivery. Built custom mail server daemons, encrypted storage engines, database architecture, and AJAX webmail. Named on three U.S. patents.

Developed a custom network monitoring and management system with alphanumeric paging notifications — providing real-time alerts for network events before modern monitoring platforms existed.

Built a web-based cable modem termination system provisioning tool enabling subscriber activation and configuration. Front-office staff could provision broadband accounts in real time, eliminating ticketing to technical staff.

Developed in-house subscriber management and provisioning automation, streamlining account creation, service activation, and user lifecycle management for an ISP.

Open-source web-based tool for bulk CSV data import into MediaWiki instances — enabling mass content ingestion via template-mapped page creation. Widely used by the MediaWiki community.

Automated group management bot using the Flickr API — handling group moderation, content curation, and administrative tasks at scale.

Paddock pasture rotation system for livestock management — software for planning and tracking rotational grazing schedules. Notable as the first professional programming project, built as a teenager.

Personal portfolio and blog built with Astro 6 on Cloudflare Pages. Fast, static, dark-mode-first. Migrated 120 legacy WordPress posts and rebuilt around a modern content architecture.

Free, ad-free online resource for Python developers — quick solutions to common errors, code examples, and a curated directory of Python packages. Relaunched in 2021.
